HOW TO REACH SHIMLA

Shimla is a beautiful and hot favorite hill station. Shimla is situated at a very high altitude amidst jagged terrain of Himalayan Mountains. By Air:

The easiest and quickest way to reach Shimla is by air. The nearest airport of Shimla is ‘Jubbarhatti’ which is located nearly 23 km away from city center. There are frequent flights to Shimla from New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kullu and Dharamshala. Indian Airlines and Jagson offer nice flight services with connectivity to other places.

By Road:

Shimla is well connected to Delhi and Chandigarh by roads. The National Highway 22 connects Shimla to Delhi and other major places in India. Shimla is situated nearly 370 km from Delhi and 119 km from Chandigarh. Though, the transportation by road to Shimla consumes lot of time but it is a beautiful experience. Tourists can enjoy the natural beauty in and around Shimla city. There are lots of public vehicles, deluxe and luxury buses that run continuously between Shimla and Delhi.

By Rail:

The other option to reach Shimla is Trains. Many tourists prefer traveling by trains to Shimla, there is no problem of traffic and tourists can enjoy natural beauty too. Shimla is connected to Kalka (96 km) with Meter gauge. There are lots of luxury and express trains available to reach Shimla. The toy train takes 6 hours to reach Shimla that shows breathtaking and stunning views during journey. The overnight journey from Delhi to Kalka gives wonderful experience as the longest tunnel (1.2 m) comes during the journey.
